Education/Experience
Obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia in 1986; and her Certified Driving Instructor (CDI) in 1987 from Virginia Commonwealth University.

She received her Certified Driver Rehab Specialist (CDRS) credentials as a charter member in 1994. Ms. Garrison Jones received the ADED Certificate of Professional Recognition in 1990 and recognized with the 1997 Scholar Award from the Association of Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED). Received the ADED Achievement award in 2003.

Deena authored four books and numerous publications for driver rehabilitation, and is a frequent presenter at conferences on driver training for the disabled.

She served on the board of directors for ADED for 3 years, on the board of “Aging Council” for the National Department of Transportation and completed research with the National Highway Traffic Safety Association.

Deena is passionately committed to training individuals in the safe and efficient operation of a motor vehicle. Her hundreds of satisfied clients is her testament

Deena has provided driver education and training to those with CVAs, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, arthritis, and visual impairments.

She provides clinical and on the road driver assessments. Driving services include: visual, perceptual, and cognitive screenings; physical skills evaluation; driving equipment evaluation (including high technology sensitized driving systems);

She provides on-the-road evaluation training in a specially equipped car or van; and DMV test preparation assistance.

Evaluation and prescription of equipment for the passenger who uses a wheelchair, but is not able to drive; information regarding driving equipment sales; and contact information for driving equipment manufactures. All customers must have medical clearance from their physicians and the Department of Motor Vehicles.
