10:00 - 12:00pm  “Not All Accessible Vehicles are Equal”

Presenter:  Giovanni Suarez, VMI Regional Sales Manager

Abstract: A review of accessible vehicle types, features and benefits that impact passenger comfort, convenience and safety. A discussion on the characteristics of various vehicle make, model and conversions designed to meet the unique needs of clients. A product demonstration will be conducted to show the importance of usable interior space inside accessible vehicles.

Learning Objectives:

1.         Understand which vehicle make and models are converted for accessibility.

2.         Learn what types of ramp systems (conversions) available in the marketplace today.

3.         Learn the pros and cons of the various ramp systems (conversions).

4.         Understand how vehicle space can impact the client’s comfort, convenience & safety.

5.         Participate in a hands-on product demonstration.

1:00 – 3:00pm  “Adaptive Driving Controls and Devices: Product Overview and Practical Applications”

Presenter: James Morrison, Systems Engineer, Managing Member of Veigel North America

Abstract: This 2 hour presentation will provide an overview and demonstration of latest updates to the electronic driving controls, overview of right hand mount driving controls, egress & ingress solutions for persons and loading / unloading of mobility scooters/powerchairs in vehicles as well as safety restraint assist devices. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to drive with equipment installed in demo vehicle.

Learning Objectives:

1. Attendees will be able to describe the benefits of Electronic Hand Controls vs. Mechanical
2. Attendees will gain knowledge of the right hand controls
3. Attendees will participate in test drives and product review
4. Attendees will gain knowledge of specific person lift and scooter/powerchair lift now available
