What you Need to Know About Driver Rehabilitation & Automotive Mobility
PURPOSE OF COURSE
ADED and NMEDA have partnered to develop an introductory level educational course aimed at providing allied healthcare professionals with an overview of a patient’s automotive mobility challenges, automotive mobility solutions, and the practitioner’s role in advocacy and referral. Patient assessment, chronic illnesses and disabilities analysis, adaptive solutions and the role of specialists will be reviewed. This train the trainer course is designed to train instructors to present this three hour course.
1. Overview of the Importance of Mobility and Related Services
2. Automotive Mobility Industry Overview
3. Diagnosis, Assessment and Automotive Solutions
4. Product Demonstration Review and Walk Arounds
5. Working with Mobility Equipment Dealers
6. Resource Review
Applicant selection will be made by an ADED Ad Hoc Committee. The committee will consider all of the eligibility requirements as well as geographical location when selecting potential trainers. For consideration, please complete the application below by November 1, 2016.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR TRAINERS
ADED is currently accepting applications for this train-the-trainer workshop and the qualifications for applicants include the following:
• Current ADED membership
• Current CDRS credential
• Minimum of five years full time experience in the driver rehabilitation field
• Demonstrate experience conducting workshops, presentations or training sessions.
• Provide a current CV/Resume
This training will occur online. The training dates will be announced as soon as they are confirmed. There is no cost to apply or attend. Our goal is to select twelve trainers that represent various regions. Selection will be made in the first two weeks of November and applicants selected for the Train the Trainer workshop will be notified by email. There is no mandatory commitment to present. Trained speakers will coordinate with NMEDA and local sponsors to promote and host programs. A nominal stipend to cover expenses will be provided to speakers.
