Introduction to Driver Rehabilitation

This two-day course is ideal for those new to the field of driver rehabilitation. The skills and knowledge needed to establish an adaptive driving program or become a new staff member for an established program will be discussed and shared. Topics include: Program Development, Behind the Wheel Training Techniques,Introduction to Adaptive Driving Equipment, Program Documentation. The course will also discuss collaboration with key partners, health care professionals and family.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Jenny Nordine, OTR/L, CDRS
Jenny Nordine’s strong leadership abilities have guided her private practice, Driving to Independence, to success since 2000. With five employees, her company now provides driver assessment and training for all of Arizona and New Mexico. Ms. Nordine is experienced with low-tech to high-tech driving assessment and training, vehicle assessment, as well as fundraising and organization of community outreach for persons with disabilities. She is well known and admired by her staff and community. Jenny’s education and experience in Occupational Therapy supports a strong desire to provide the ultimate level of independence. Jenny has been involved with the Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) since 2001, attending annual conferences and sitting as Education Chair in 2010. She has sat on a number of other boards including the Arizona Brain Injury Alliance and the Arizona State Rehabilitation Council. Jenny has presented at multiple conferences on Adaptive Driving and Leading a Successful Private Practice including for ADED, National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association and the Arizona Occupational Therapy Association. Jenny is a Past-President of ADED.
