This two-day seminar has been developed for traffic safety / driver education professionals with limited knowledge of disabilities, as well as for health professionals who wish to apply their knowledge of the different types and levels of disabilities to the driving task.

  • Janet Berthiaume, OTR/L, DRS, FNORA Janet received her degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Michigan University in 1990.  Her specialties include vision and driver rehabilitation. she received the "Advancement of Sciences" award from the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association, International (NORA) as a team member of the Beaumont Eye Institute in 1997; obtained certification as a driver rehabilitation specialist (CDRS) from ADED in 1999; received the "President's Award" from NORA in 2005; named on of "Therapy Times' 25 Most Influential" of 2006; and was awarded Fellowship in NORAS in 2007.  She has lectured on vision rehabilitation and driving, low vision/telescopic driving, elderly driving and fall prevention. She served on the NORA Advisory Council from 2002-2004 and on the NORA Executive Board as Secretary/Treasurer until 2012.
  • Beth Anderson Gibson, OTR/L, CDRS Beth has specialized in the driver rehabilitation for 19 of her 30 years as an occupational therapist in the Atlanta Georgia area.  As an author of two textbook chapters in driver rehabilitation, Beth has been a speaker at numerous local and national conferences.  She is the Secretary of the ADED Board of Directors ; is active in the ADED Georgia/South Carolina Chapter; and was the previous editor of ADED's News Brake, newsletter publication. Beth received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of new Hampshire. Beth currently services as Director of Driver Services for Freedom and Mobility, a private driver evaluation and training company headquartered in Marietta, Georgia. The company's services include high-tech assessments and training in Georgia, North Carlina and Alabama.
