ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Chad Strowmatt, LOT, CDRS

Chad earned his BS in Occupational Therapy at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 1987. In 1989, he began working in driver rehabilitation at TIRR in Houston performing clinical and behind the wheel evaluations. Chad completed training programs offered by Louisiana Tech University and Adaptive Mobility Services in Orlando, Florida. In 1993 Chad began a private practice in Houston now known as Strowmatt Rehab Services. Chad became a CDRS in 1998 and was previously recognized with the Certificate of Professional Recognition from ADED in 1993 (clinical, car, van). Chad has numerous years of experience with a variety of vehicle modifications from the original TIRR van to his current private practice with EMC, IDS, MPS, MPD, Menox, Veigel, DriveMaster, Crescent Industries, Braun, VMI, and Howell Ventures. Chad has served ADED as a 1996-1998 Professional Development Chair and 2003 President Elect 2004 President and 2005 Past-President. He is an instructor trainer for the Application for Vehicle Modifications course and has taught the course since 2009.

Dean Robertson, B.Ed., CDI, CDRS

Dean Robertson has been involved in the field of Driver Rehabilitation since 1996.  He obtained Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS) designation in 1998, and has retained certification since that time.  Dean holds a Health Education Degree, Business Administration Diploma and is a licensed GLP Driving Instructor.  He is an active member of The Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED), associate member and CAMS-HP instructor of the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA).  Dean has worked in both private and public rehab centres in both Canada and the US.   Most recently, he was the coordinator of the Driver Rehab Program at the GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre (British Columbia's largest rehabilitation hospital) in Vancouver for eight years.   He has completed certification training for both the EMC Aevit 2.0 and Joysteer electronic driving systems.  In 2014, Dean returned to private practice with his company Access Driver Rehab Specialists and currently offers driving assessments along with both sedan (low-tech) and conversion van (high-tech) system training.  He enjoys long distance running and bicycle touring in his spare time.
